·         http://www.jigsawplanet.com/ to make your own jigsaws online for free- limited options, but very easy to use, and they will store your puzzles for you (but I think you have a limited amount- I could only make 7 puzzles).

·         http://www.jigzone.com has jigsaws that you can play online, or you can make a range of jigsaws from their pictures or your own. Well worth a visit.

·         I use tibosoftware ( jigs@wpuzzle2) which I bought for less than US$10! I'd highly recommend it, if you want to make, store and play jigsaws on your computer. It's so easy to use (even I could figure it out), there is a huge range of options, you can make any number of pieces, and you can vary the shapes or even cut your own. You can download it for a generous free trial period, and the puzzles you make can be stored as separate .exe files on your computer, so you don’t have to buy the program unless you want the extra features or ongoing use.

·         http://www.freewarefiles.com/program_1_22_22185.html - Free Dinosaur Jigsaw Puzzles for Kids from Curiosoft. The program also allows kids to create their own jigsaw puzzles from personal drawings and pictures. The puzzles you make are saved as .exe files. Limited , and rather flat-looking puzzles, but excellent for a free program. Some puzzles are included.

·         Brainsbreaker jigsaw puzzles – free trial from http://www.freeware-guide.com/dir/games/puzzles2.html   In trial mode, you can play their included puzzles and you can make your own (with limited options of number of pieces; you can only place about 30 or so pieces of any Demo puzzle, including any you create in Trial mode- but still a very good range of choices). You can make “gift” .exe puzzles of up to 50 pieces in Trial mode. You do get an occasional pop-up request to consider buying the program in Trial mode, which is fair enough (US$19.95).

·         http://www.kraisoft.com/puzzle-games/real-jigsaw-puzzle/    This is a very good demo with good features, no time limits but limited options for creating. It’s free - it doesn't expire, doesn't contain any ads and includes a lot of free puzzles. No option to save stand-alone files, so you have to have the full demo program installed, but there are plenty of puzzles already in the demo (16 packs-1st 3 puzzles in each pack are available as demo; limited no. of pieces, around 6-15, can’t modify their puzzles in demo version). Created puzzles are stored in a “User” file, and can be played, modified etc. It’s well worthwhile, especially for 12- 100- piece puzzles. Ideal as whole program for children.

·        www.tibosoftware.com/jppcreator.htm  Jigsaw Promo Creator- free Tibosoft program for making a basic 35-piece jigsaw- no choice of pieces, shapes etc, but a nice puzzle. Saves as .exe files. You can use this to promote a business, website etc.

• http://www.jigzone.com/ has also been recommended to me. They have a range of options and pictures for you to use for making jigsaws.
